When I was a new user of outlook express I once required to reset it to default settings as I had played with it default settings and everything went wrong. I then kept on trying and looking for methods of how to reset outlook express to its default settings. I really had a tough time with it so now since I know how we can do it I am sharing it with you folks. So lets reset outlook express to default settings. I would also like to tell you that there are other methods to do it but I found this to be the easiest. Before resetting outlook to default settings I would request you to back up your emails because we are actually going to delete the profiles in outlook express so that we can bring it back to the default settings as its freshly installed.

Lets reset outlook express to default settings now.

If you have Windows XP installed :
1. Go to “Start”
2. Select the “Control Panel”
3. Switch to “Classic View” option in left hand column
4. Select “Mail”

If you have Windows 7 installed :
1. Go to “Start”
2. Then select the “Control Panel”
3. Look for “Mail”
4. If you cannot find it type “mail” in the search box on the top right
5. Click “Mail”

This will pop up the Mail Setup dialog box. It will give you the show profiles section that we are looking for. In most of the cases you might be having one profile. If you delete the profile, your outlook express settings will be reset to default. To delete the profile or profiles, highlight the particular profile and click remove and press ok.You have successfully reset outlook express to default settings.
