I was working in my office when suddenly my boss asked me to check internet explorer version. I wondered why the hell would he ask me to do that. After searching a lot I came to know that some softwares, websites and applications support only certain versions of Internet Explorer, Microsoft’s Web Browser. Now the problem was how to check internet explorer version as I was not that familiar with Microsoft Internet Explorer. So I went through most of the options and finally was able to find out.

Steps to check internet explorer version of your pc :

1. Open the Microsoft Internet Explorer.
2. Either click on the “Help” menu or the “Question mark” icon at the top of Microsoft Internet Explorer menu bar.
3. Navigate to the bottom of the “Help” menu and click on the “About Internet Explorer” option.
4. A message box or a pop up window will appear showing you various information where you can check internet explorer version of your pc.

Now if you don’t find the “Help” menu or the “Question mark” icon at the top of Microsoft Internet Explorer menu bar as in Microsoft Windows Internet Explorer 7 and Microsoft Windows Internet Explorer 8, what are you going to do then. Not to worry, just press ALT+H, and then click About Internet Explorer option.

So that is how you can check Internet Explorer version you are using, the cipher strength (SSL) used by it, the product identification number or to see when was it last updated.
